LESSON FROM FIRE AT NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL

Lessons From the Fire at Notre Dame Cathedral – Paris  — April 2019

  •  Mary Adele LaClair
La Pieta

This is a picture I remember seeing on TV news after the tragic fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris In April 2019. The Cross and the Pieta survive whole amidst charred ruins. What a picture.

Notre Dame means “Our Lady”. France has traditionally been known as a Catholic County.

The lesson which drops into my mind is this:

Perhaps in these last days, as many think that the Lord’s returning may be soon, even perhaps in our lifetime:

…just perhaps the people of France, and we the people of the world, should be thinking more of Jesus Himself than ‘Our Lady’.

Perhaps a lesson from this tragic fire which destroyed part of an 850 year old structure could be this:

It is time to:

FOCUS MORE ON THE MESSAGE THAN THE MESSENGER

Selah…

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”     Matthew 11:28-30 New International Version (NIV)

    • Thanks. Some readers may not understand that Mary’s appearances were to lead people to Jesus. Glad you didn’t need the explanation – thanks for your positive comment. Blessings to you ! Hope others are able to connect with it as well…
