Here a good place to explain and expound on 1 Tim 2:12
1 Tim 2:12
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. KJV
Notice here it does not use the plural, MEN, which would mean all men;
Notice here it does not say “A” man, meaning any man.;
Notice here it definitely says THE man. a specific man., meaning the husband.
Youngs Literal Translation confirms this by spelling it out:
12 and a woman I do not suffer to teach, nor to rule a husband, but to be in quietness,

The GENEVA BIBLE which pre-dates the KJV uses the same identical wording as YOUNGS LITERAL TRANSLATION as above.
It should also be noticed that First Timothy deals primarily with proper order in church meetings.. As does a similar instruction in 1Cor 14:34.refer to previously disordered meetings. See additional column here titled :Should Women Speak in Church, which gives a pretty good picture of the situation which Paul was addressing at the time.
